"You think dogs will not be in heaven? I tell you they will be there long before any of us."-- Robert Louis Stevenson
Coping with the loss of a pet can be difficult. Often, our pets are members of our family and their death can be devastating.
Each of us handles grief in a unique way. Some prefer to grieve in private, others want to share their grief with others. Some families hold a memorial service for their pets, giving each family member a chance to say goodbye.
Ways to honor your pet’s memory:
-
Plant a tree or flowering bush
-
Create a stepping stone with your pet’s name
-
Make a donation to your favorite pet charity
-
Volunteer at your local shelter
